My name is Patrick Clemons, and I am a graduate of Western Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Communication with a concentration in journalism. My interest in journalism stemmed from my passion for news and writing. I enjoy learning and sharing information with people on a wide variety of subjects.
In the summer of 2019, I interned with the Gaston Gazette, an award-winning newspaper in Gaston County. I was the Editor-in-Chief of the Western Carolinian, WCU’s student-run newspaper. I also worked with WCU’s DegreePlus program as a Copywriter/Editor. To supplement my political science degree, I was the Chief of Staff for WCU’s Student Government Association.
Right after college, I worked for WSOC-TV in Charlotte as a Content Coordinator, consisting of both assignment desk editor and digital content producer duties. I then spent two years as a Senior Content Writer for Townsquare Interactive, writing SEO-driven website content for small businesses. Since July 2024, I’ve served as a Content Marketing Specialist for Brooks Safety Solutions, where I co-lead content and communications for major business initiatives, including product launches, acquisitions, and enterprise-wide campaigns.
People who know me would say I’m hardworking, passionate, and adaptable. Over the course of my career, I’ve become knowledgeable in programs such as WordPress, BLOX CMS, and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, InDesign), along with tools like Workfront.
